Nicole C., an avid painter and sketch artist, began to experiment in jewelry design and metalworking while living in the San Francisco bay area. After showing her pieces to others, requests to purchase her pieces quickly grew and Yen Jewelry was born.

Yen—meaning “a strong desire”—was named after Nicole’s fondness of jewelry and accessories--elements she believes that most elegantly convey one's personal style. Brilliant gemstones, combined with her eye for color and careful attention to construction, result in timeless pieces.

Nicole was selected as a finalist in the 2007 Halstead Bead Business Development Grant Competition, as well as its first annual competition in 2006. Her jewelry was featured at the 2006 "Extra Television" Primetime Emmys Lounge and the "21st Annual American Cinematheque Salutes George Clooney." Yen Jewelry is featured in Hartmann Luggage's campaign for its newest jewelry travel accessory in their Luxe Collection, which was designed by John Truex, of Lambertson Truex. The collection has been featured in various publications, including Lucky, Seattle Magazine, Seattle Metropolitan and DailyCandy.

Nicole works out of her Seattle area studio.
